Daz to Blender with Rig-GNS
Rig-GNS is a Blender tool for rigging Genesis figures from Daz studio. It also helps with the animation workflow and game development with features for copying animation templates from Mixamo and Daz Store, and also generated mouth-shapes for lip-sync.
The addon was tested with blender 2.8 as well as 2.9 (Including 2.91). The genesis figures (Genesis 3 male/female and Genesis 8 male/female) used during testing were exported from DAZ studio 4.14. All testing was done on Windows 10 OS.

Installation:
- Download file and save it on your computer.
- In Blender, go to Edit > Preferences > Add-ons.
- Press Install button and locate the Rig GNS file.
- Enable the Rig-GNS add-on
Tutorial:
- Launch Daz studio software and export genesis figure (genesis 3 or genesis 8) as an FBX file.
- In blender, use the import button to import the FBX file. But while still in the import menu, ensure 'Use Pre/Post Rotation' is unchecked (found under 'Transforms'). And also ensure 'Automatic Bone Orientation' is checked (found under 'Armature').
- With the Genesis armature selected, start the rigging process by selecting 'Initialize' button, then 'Add metarig' button, then 'Match metarig' button, then 'Generate rig' button, and finally, select the 'Rig figure' Button.
- Once rigging process is completed, Adobe mixamo animation templates can be added to the figure.
- First, visit mixamo.com website and download any animation template in FBX format.
- Import the FBX file into the blender scene and select 'Copy mixamo' button and then the Play' button.
- When no longer needed, select 'Remove mixamo' button to remove the animation armature from scene.
